Ottawa Fall Tips
Anytime the clippings are over 1" they should be raked or caught in a catcher. Leaves should also be raked as required. Don't let the lawn go into the winter full of leaves and debris as this will smother the grass and cause winter kill. Keep your mower blade sharp. For best results cut your grass weekly at a height of 2-3". The grass should be cut weekly until the end of October. If weather permits, the final cut is usually late October or the first week in November. Don't let the lawn go into the winter overly long as this promotes snow mold. During normal fall weather, not much watering is required, ( with the dew and cooler temperatures). If there are hot and dry periods do not wait for rain. |
